Methylcobalamin is the co-enzyme form of vitamin B-12, found to be especially critical in the maintenance of a healthy nervous system. B-12 itself is necessary for producing energy from fats and proteins and plays a critical role in DNA synthesis and homocysteine metabolism.
How do I take NOW Methyl B-12 lozenges?+
Take 1 lozenge 1 to 2 times daily — chew it or hold it in your mouth until it dissolves, then swallow. Each lozenge provides 1,000 mcg of B-12 as methylcobalamin, and the bottle holds 100 lozenges. Store in a cool, dry place after opening.
Do vegetarians need vitamin B-12?+
Dietary sources of B-12 are almost exclusively of animal origin (meat and dairy), so supplementation may be especially important for strict vegetarians. This product itself is vegan — the B-12 is non-animal derived.
