What our consultants would suggest

A daily multivitamin is the cheapest insurance policy in supplementation. If you eat well, train regularly and sleep enough, you might not need one. For everyone else (most of us), a quality multi covers the gaps.

Our consultants would point most people at a multi with methylated B-vits, real-dose magnesium, and zinc as glycinate/picolinate — not a one-a-day with token amounts. Quality multis are usually 2–3 capsules per dose.

Common questions

Should I take a daily multivitamin?

If your diet is genuinely varied and balanced, you may not need one. For most South Africans (irregular eating, stress, indoor lifestyles), a quality multi covers nutritional gaps cheaply and reliably.

How do I pick a multivitamin?

Look for: methylated B vitamins, magnesium glycinate (not oxide), zinc picolinate/glycinate, K2 alongside any D3, and 2–3 caps per dose (single-tablet multis usually have inadequate doses). Brands we trust: Solgar, NOW Special Two, Metagenics PhytoMulti, Viridian High Five.

Men's vs women's multivitamin?

The main difference: women's multis include iron, men's don't. If you're an active man, skip the women's blend. Otherwise the formulas are similar.

Can I take a multi with other supplements?

Yes. The multi is your foundation. Add goal-specific extras on top — omega-3, magnesium, vitamin D, etc. Just don't double up on the same nutrient at high dose without checking.
