FORTIFOOD - Zinc Orotate - 60 Capsules

A chelated form of zinc. Marginal zinc deficiency is common, but zinc orotate has also been used as nutritional support in the treatment of certain cancers.

PHARMACOLOGICAL ACTION
Zinc is a co-enzyme in many enzymatic reactions and has clinical effects in a broad variety of conditions. It is of particular importance in prostate function, diabetes, immunity, heart disease, wound healing and skin conditions. Deficiencies of zinc have also been shown to play a role in loss of taste and hearing acuity, eating disorders and in many symptoms associated with sugar imbalance. In the form of zinc orotate, its clinical effects appear to go beyond that of a source of zinc irons, since zinc forms chelates and complexes with orotic acid that are absorbed as such and which have pharmacological actions that differ from those of zinc ions.

INDICATIONS
Poor immunity, slow wound healing, prostate enlargement, colds, fatigue, eating disorders, loss of taste acuity, eating disorders.

INTERACTIONS
Absorption of Zinc may be suppressed by high-dose calcium therapy. Zinc may impair copper absorption. Concomitant use of potassium-sparing diuretics can lead to zinc accumulation and increase the risk of adverse effects. Concomitant use with tetracycline antibiotics may decrease their absorption.

PREGNANCY AND LACTATION
Safe at normal dosage levels.
