Blackstrap Molasses 500g

Health Connection Wholefoods Blackstrap Molasses is a rich, dark syrup produced from the third and final boiling of sugar cane. This 500g jar delivers a robust, bittersweet flavour that sets it apart from lighter molasses varieties, along with a notably dense nutritional profile that has made it a staple in health-conscious kitchens for generations.

Unlike refined sugar or even lighter molasses, blackstrap molasses retains a concentrated amount of minerals that are stripped away during the sugar refining process. It is particularly valued as a natural source of iron, calcium, magnesium, and potassium, making it a popular dietary addition for those looking to boost their mineral intake through whole food sources rather than supplements.

This versatile natural sweetener works beautifully in baking, where it lends depth and moisture to gingerbread, bran muffins, and dark breads. It can be stirred into porridge, drizzled over pancakes, or dissolved into warm water for a simple mineral-rich tonic. Many South Africans also use blackstrap molasses in marinades and braai sauces, where its deep caramel notes complement smoky, savoury flavours.

Health Connection Wholefoods is a trusted South African brand committed to providing minimally processed, wholesome ingredients. Their Blackstrap Molasses contains no artificial additives or preservatives — just pure, concentrated cane molasses as nature intended.

Store in a cool, dry place. The thick consistency is normal and may vary slightly between batches due to the natural production process. A nutrient-dense alternative to conventional sweeteners for everyday use.
