AN ESSENTIAL MACROMINERAL
The human body requires magnesium for over 300 enzymatic reactions. A deficiency in this macromineral can negatively impact health. Due to depleted magnesium levels in the food supply, taking a supplement is often a wise course.
Some of the claims for magnesium supplements allowed by SAHPRA (South African Health Products Regulatory Authority), include: contributes to normal functioning of the nervous system and to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue; contributes to normal psychological and muscle function; contributes to the maintenance of normal bones and teeth; and is factor in the maintenance of good health.
Powder blends provide an effective dose of magnesium, without having to ingest numerous capsules.
Daily Calm – 300 g 75x 4g servings
Daily Calm provides 388mg of elemental magnesium per serving, 92% NRV. When warm water is added to the powder blend, the drink fizzes. During the chemical reaction (the fizzing), the magnesium, as calcium carbonate, is chelated (bound) with citric acid, forming magnesium citrate. Chelated minerals are absorbed more rapidly and easily by the digestive system.
Chelation is the process whereby magnesium (and other minerals) is bound to an organic acid (e.g. citric acid) or an amino acid to increase its bioavailability.
