What is Fortifood Bromelain?+
Fortifood Bromelain contains proteolytic enzymes derived from the pineapple plant, used as a digestive aid. Each capsule carries a 250 mg bromelain blend, and the container holds 90 capsules.
How do I take bromelain capsules?+
The directions are two capsules three times per day: after meals when using it as a digestive aid, or on an empty stomach as indicated for its anti-inflammatory action. Always check the label.
Who should be careful with bromelain?+
Bromelain should be taken with care by anyone with coagulation disorders or severely impaired hepatic or renal function, and use is best avoided during pregnancy and lactation. It can also interact with tetracycline antibiotics, so speak to your healthcare provider if you are on medication.
Does bromelain have side effects?+
Cases of nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea have been reported, and hypersensitivity reactions including skin reactions have also been reported. Always consult your health professional if you are seriously ill or concerned.

TETRACYCLINE ANTIBIOTICS: Concomitant therapy increases plasma and urine tetracycline levels.

SIDE EFFECTS AND SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS
Cases of nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea have been reported. Metrorrhagia and menorrhagia have occasionally occurred. Hypersensitivity reactions have also been reported which include skin reactions and asthma.
