PHARMACOLOGICAL ACTION
Quercetin is a bioflavonoid which occurs in many natural products (apples, onions etc.) and is known to have a strong antihisamine effect.
The mangosteen extract contains 10% mangostin, a natural xanthonoid. Mangosteen contains more than 40 different xanthones, each of which has been shown to suppress a specific type of allergic reaction in humans.
MSM has been shown to benefit the allergy sufferer. In one study, MSM was given twice daily to 55 volunteers suffering from seasonal allergies which included nasal congestion and coughing. A significant reduction in both upper and lower respiratory tract symptoms was observed.
L-Glutamine is well known for its beneficial effects on mucous membranes whilst simultaneously reducing the allergic potential of patients. It also supports the immune function and protects the liver.
Bromelain contains proteolytice enzymes derived from pineapple. It has considerable anti-inflammatory and anti-swelling properties. Clinical trials show that it produces considerable improvements in nasal drainage and swelling in patients with allergies.
L-Tyrosine improves adrenal function which is important in the patient with allergy potential.
Selenium plays an essential role as part of the enzyme glutathione peroxidase, a major enzyme in the detoxification processes in the liver.
L-Taurine controls fluid exchange across biological membranes. As such, it also plays a role in the control of allergies.
Bioperine (black pepper extract) aids absorption of the ingredients above, specifically that of quercetin.

DOSAGE AND DIRECTIONS OF USE
Take six to ten capsules daily in divided doses. It is recommended that the product be used in conjunction with vitamin C (2000mg to 3000mg per day) and a good multi vitamin / mineral such as Forfifood Multinutrient.
