Common questions

What is MCT oil?+

MCTs (medium chain triglycerides) are fatty acids extracted from coconut oil through a method called fractionation. The result is a clear liquid with a neutral taste, popularly used as a dietary nutritional supplement and generally considered a good source of energy that the body is easily able to process.

Can I cook with Credé MCT oil?+

No — do not use this oil in cooking. It is intended as a nutritional supplement and is best consumed in smoothies, in coffee, or taken as is.

Is this MCT oil made from coconut or palm oil?+

This is the coconut oil based version of Credé's MCT oil. Credé also makes a palm kernel oil version, which is RSPO (Round Table on Sustainable Palm Oil) certified, but the bottle described here is extracted from coconut oil.

Does MCT oil have a coconut taste?+

No. The fractionation process leaves a clear liquid with a neutral taste, which is why many people simply add it to coffee or smoothies without noticing the flavour.
