Shaoyang Formula comes from the “Treatise on Febrile Diseases”, written by Zhang Zhongjing in the late Eastern Han Dynasty in China, and has been in clinical use for more than 1,800 years.
It is a well-known reconcile prescription in Traditional Chinese Medicine for the Shaoyang Syndrome. Because the formula has the traditional actions of supporting Zheng Qi and eliminating Evils, the tradition describes it as both offensive and tonifying. It is also traditionally associated with smoothing the Liver and Gallbladder and regulating the Spleen and Stomach.
