What is Chinaherb Replenish Essence used for?+
Replenish Essence (Shou Wu Pian) is a Traditional Chinese Medicine formula traditionally used for the early appearance of white or grey hair, hair loss, age spots, poor memory and other signs of ageing. Its principles are nourishing the Kidney and Essence, supporting Qi and Blood, and harmonising the Spleen and Stomach.
Why does Chinese medicine link hair to the Kidney?+
TCM reads the prosperity of Qi and Blood in the glory or dryness of the hair. Hair is considered especially close to the Kidney — a sufficiently working Kidney is seen as the foundation of healthy hair — while the Liver stores the Blood that nourishes hair and the Spleen transports nourishment to it.
Does Replenish Essence do anything besides supporting hair?+
The product information notes it can help improve signs of ageing in the elderly such as white hair and age spots, can promote the improvement of immunity, and inhibits the deposition of lipofuscin, which is associated with ageing of the body's organs. Replenish Essence is a classical formula composed, in Traditional Chinese Medicine terms, to nourish Kidney Essence, Qi and Blood and to harmonise the Spleen and Stomach. It is traditionally taken to support healthy hair and to support the body through the visible signs of ageing, such as early greying.
