Treats the following symptoms:



Disperse Blood Stagnation has the effect of promoting Blood circulation and removing Blood Stasis. It is especially suitable for cardiovascular Qi and Blood Stagnation problems. Long-term use has a good preventive effect on cardiovascular diseases, which can strengthen myocardial contractility and improve cardiac function without increasing myocardial oxygen consumption; at the same time expanding the coronary artery and improving microcirculation; improving Qi and Blood circulation. In clinic, it is used for angina pectoris, high cholesterol, hyperlipidaemia and arteriosclerosis.

Contra-indicated in pregnancy.

 

ANGINA PECTORIS

Disease description:

Angina pectoris is according to the American Heart Association the medical term for chest pain or discomfort due to coronary heart disease. The condition manifests as chest tightness, discomfort or pain, palpitations and is caused by a reduced supply of oxygen-rich blood to the heart muscle as a result of narrow or blocked arteries. The symptoms can radiate into other parts of the body, e.g. back pain, arm or lower jaw. In severe cases, patients may have a sense of fear of dying. It often occurs during labour or emotional excitement and can be relieved by resting. For some patients, it can also be induced by meals or in the cold season.

Explanation according to the Traditional Chinese Medicine:

The main causes of angina pectoris include two aspects:

  • one is “Stagnation causes the pain“, which is when Qi and Blood Stasis leads to angina,
  • the other is “failure of Nourishment causes pain“, which is caused by the Deficiency of Qi and BloodYin and Yang together with Blood Stasis lead to angina pectoris.
