补中益气汤 / Bu Zhong Yi Qi Tang

Arouse Center Qi (Bu Zhong Yi Qi Tang) is a classical Chinese herbal formula created by Li Dongyuan during the Jin and Yuan dynasties, around 900 years ago, and has a long history of use within Traditional Chinese Medicine.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Spleen and Stomach (the general term for the digestive and absorption functions) belong to the Earth element, and their proper function is considered the foundation that nourishes the whole body. Within the TCM framework, Arouse Center Qi uses sweet and warm herbs to nourish the Spleen and Stomach and boost Yang Qi, and is traditionally used for weak Spleen Qi patterns.
