Background

Flaxseed is one of the oldest crops, having been cultivated since the beginning of civilization. The Latin name of the flaxseed is Linum usitatissimum, which means “very useful”. 

Health Benefits

Flaxseed is one of the richest plant sources of the fatty acid; alpha-linolenic acid (ALA). ALA has greater bioavailability in the flaxseed oil than in milled flaxseed.

In addition to its nutritional value, flaxseed oil may have health benefits due to three main reasons:

  1. Due to its high content of alpha-linolenic acid.
  2. It is rich in dietary soluble and insoluble fibers (whole flaxseeds).
  3. Due to its high content of lignans, acting as anti-oxidants and phytoestrogens.

ALA can be metabolized in the body into docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA). 

The health benefits of all 3 fatty acids (ALA, EPA and DHA) have been widely reported for several conditions including cardiovascular disease, hypertension, atherosclerosis, arthritis, osteoporosis, autoimmune and neurological disorders.

This product contains 1000mg of cold pressed, pure and organic Flaxseed Oil

Flaxseed Oil is light sensitive. This product is encapsulated in a dark vegicap, to keep product fresh and reduce light exposure.

Directions for Use:

Take one (1) to three (3) capsules daily, or as directed by your Health Professional.
