What our consultants would suggest

Probiotics are not interchangeable. The strain matters more than the CFU count on the front of the box. Our consultants would point most people at a multi-strain probiotic with at least 10–20 billion CFU taken consistently for 8–12 weeks.

For post-antibiotic recovery: Saccharomyces boulardii. For everyday gut and immunity: a multi-strain Lactobacillus + Bifidobacterium blend. For IBS/SIBO patterns: ask us — the wrong strain can make it worse.

Take it at night, away from hot drinks, keep it sealed and cool.

Common questions

What probiotic should I take for IBS?

For IBS, the research supports specific strains — not all probiotics help, some make it worse. WhatsApp our consultants before you start — we'll match the strain to your pattern (diarrhoea-predominant, constipation-predominant, mixed).

Do I need to refrigerate my probiotic?

Some strains require refrigeration — always check the label. Shelf-stable formulations are designed to survive ambient temperature, but heat (in a car, on the windowsill) will still kill them. Keep it cool and sealed.

How long should I take a probiotic?

Most people need a minimum of 8–12 weeks of daily dosing before they judge the outcome. Stopping at 2 weeks is too early. After 12 weeks, you can usually drop to a maintenance dose or rotate strains.

How many CFU do I actually need?

For general health: 10–20 billion CFU. For post-antibiotic recovery or chronic gut issues: 50 billion+. More isn't always better — strain quality and survival to the gut matter more than the headline CFU count.
