Deglycyrrhizinated Liquorice (DGL) is a specially processed form of liquorice root with the glycyrrhizin removed — the component of whole liquorice that can affect blood pressure — making DGL the form generally preferred for regular, longer-term use. Liquorice root has a long history of traditional use for digestive comfort.
