Withania somnifera, commonly known as ashwagandha, is a green shrub that grows in Asia and Africa, and is used as a traditional herbal medicine for an array of purposes. 60 vegetarian capsules.

What is in it

One vegetarian capsule provides:

• Withania somnifera (ashwagandha) [root, extract standardised for a minimum of 7% withanolides and 0.25% withaferin A] — 500 mg
• Other ingredients: vegetarian capsule, natural flow agent and microcrystalline cellulose

How to take it

The usual dose is one to three capsules per day after a meal, or as directed by your health care provider.

Sfera note that they are making label improvements and switching to gold-coloured child-proof lids, phased in over the last year, so you may receive either presentation.

Before you buy

Do not take Sfera Ashwagandha if you are hypersensitive (allergic) to any of its ingredients, if you have an auto-immune disease, if you are pregnant, or if you are breastfeeding your baby. Children and adolescents under the age of 18 should not take it. Avoid taking it with alcohol or with products that cause drowsiness.
