How to take

Do not share medicines prescribed for you with any other person. Always take Progast® Butyrate Complex capsules exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor, pharmacist or nurse has told you. Check with your doctor, pharmacist, or nurse if you are not sure.

Adults of the age 18 years and older: 1 to 2 capsules, once daily. This is the maximum recommended daily and/or total dose.

If the symptoms persist longer than 1 week during the use of the medicinal product, a doctor or a qualified healthcare practitioner should be consulted.

No more than the recommended dosage should be taken, and persons should not take or use a double dose to make up for forgotten individual doses.

For oral use only.

Each dose must be taken or given with a sufficient quantity of liquid (preferably a glass of room temperature water) to ensure safe and proper swallowing/intake of each capsule.

If you forget to use Progast® Butyrate Complex capsules then do not exceed the maximum recommended daily and/or total dose; and do not use a double dose to make up for forgotten individual doses.

If you take more Progast® Butyrate Complex capsules than you should you may experience gastrointestinal discomfort. In the event of overdosage, consult your doctor or pharmacist. If neither is available, contact the nearest hospital or poison centre.

Ingredients

Each capsule contains:

• Sodium 3-hydroxybutyrate (Butyric acid) 300 mg
• L-Glutamine 200 mg
• Calcium hydroxide 40 mg (providing calcium (elemental) 21,6 mg)
• Zinc gluconate 25 mg (providing zinc (elemental) 3,5 mg)
• Magnesium hydroxide 20 mg (providing magnesium (elemental) 8,4 mg)
• Copper bisglycinate 0,5 mg (providing copper (elemental) 50 µg)

Inactive substances per capsule: Microcrystalline cellulose, Magnesium stearate.

Does not contain sugar. Does not contain sweeteners.

Warnings

Do not take Progast® Butyrate Complex capsules:

• if you are hypersensitive (allergic) to the active substances, or any of the other ingredients Progast® Butyrate Complex capsules.
• without consulting your healthcare provider if you have an existing treatment regimen.

Contraindications: Allergic to the active substances. Hypersensitivity to the active substances. The maximum recommended daily and/or total dose should not be exceeded.

In the absence of sufficient data, the use during pregnancy and lactation is not recommended.

Progast® Butyrate Complex is not established as safe for use in persons younger than 18 years of age. Adequate care must be taken to keep this medicine out of the reach of children.

Take special precautions for liver injury or liver diseases. In the absence of sufficient data, the use of this medicine by those with liver injury or liver diseases is not recommended. Due to the possibility of potentiating the effects of blood-thinning medication, or having blood-thinning effects, this medicine should not be used for at least two weeks before surgery or a dental procedure.

We recommend caution for those with autoimmune diseases. The use of this medicine may activate the antibodies that trigger autoimmune responses in those with autoimmune diseases, as it may have immune boosting effects which can counteract immunosuppressants.

Interactions: There are no known interactions, but it is recommended to be watchful during concomitant use of this medicine with another medicine as there may be interactions with any supplement where substances may potentiate, intensify, and/or prolong an activity. It is recommended that those who are already using prescription medications observe the contraindication of concomitant use for those medications, and consult their healthcare provider before using this health supplement. Although this health supplement is indicated for self-administration, and no other forms of interaction have been reported, it is still recommended that a healthcare provider be consulted to avoid patients making dose adjustments to an existing treatment regimen, where the risks may outweigh the benefits.

Storage: Protect from direct sunlight or moisture. Do not refrigerate or freeze this product. Store in a cool, dry place at temperatures of 59-77° F, equivalent to 15-25° C, and with ambient humidity between 35% and 65%.

Children: Do not give Progast® Butyrate Complex capsules to children who are below the age of 18 years because it is unlikely to be safe. Do not attempt to modify the composition of the capsules. Keep out of the reach of children.

Progast® Butyrate Complex capsules with alcohol: We do not recommend that you use Progast® Butyrate Complex capsules with alcohol as this may only further impair the benefits that can be derived from the active substances.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding: Safety for use during pregnancy and breastfeeding has not been established. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, please consult your doctor, pharmacist or other health care provider for advice before taking this medicine.

Driving and using machines: No undesirable effects on driving and using machines have been reported with Progast® Butyrate Complex capsules. It is not always possible to predict to what extent a medicine may interfere with the daily activities of a patient. Patients should ensure that they do not engage in the above activities until they are aware of the measure to which a medicine affects them.

Possible side effects: Progast® Butyrate Complex capsules can have side effects. Not all side effects reported for Progast® Butyrate Complex capsules are included in this leaflet. Should your general health worsen or if you experience any untoward effects while taking Progast® Butyrate Complex capsules, please consult your health care provider for advice. If any of the following happens, stop taking/using Progast® Butyrate Complex capsules and tell your doctor immediately or go to the casualty department at your nearest hospital:

• swelling of the hands, feet, ankles, face, lips and mouth or throat, which may cause difficulty in swallowing or breathing,
• rash or itching,
• fainting

These are all very serious side effects and could be signs of an allergic reaction or hypersensitivity to Progast® Butyrate Complex capsules. You may need urgent medical attention or hospitalization. If you notice any side effects not mentioned in this leaflet, please inform your doctor or pharmacist.

How to store: Store all medicines out of reach of children. Store in a cool, dry place at temperatures of 59-77° F, equivalent to 15-25° C, and with ambient humidity between 35% and 65%. Do not refrigerate or freeze. Store in the original package or container. Protect from direct sunlight and moisture. Do not use it after the expiry date stated on the label. Do not use Progast® Butyrate Complex capsules if you notice abnormal appearance or unpleasant odor, as the product may be expired or was improperly stored.
