How is Bettergut different from a normal probiotic?+
Bettergut is a pre and postbiotic rather than a live-bacteria probiotic. It contains ButyraGen, a tributyrin complex that generates butyrate directly in the colon, so it works regardless of the state of your microbiome. It also works synergistically with probiotics, amplifying their benefits.
What is butyrate and why does it matter?+
Butyrate is a short chain fatty acid that the maker describes as vital for gut health, brain function, metabolic health, immune health, mood, sleep, cardiovascular and skin health. Bettergut aids in maintaining intestinal barrier function and supports the gut-brain and gut-organ axes.
How do I take Bettergut?+
Adults and children 14 years and older take 1 capsule daily, with or after food. Each capsule contains 200 mg of tributyrin.
Will Bettergut cause gas or bloating?+
The maker notes that, unlike other prebiotics, Bettergut has fewer side effects like gas and bloating, making it a gentle option that is well tolerated even at lower doses. Do not use it if you are allergic to any of the ingredients, and it is not recommended if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or intending to become pregnant.

The ButyraGen™ tributyrin complex is produced from sustainably sourced, RSPO-certified palm oil. The powder contains naturally sourced actives and excipients.
