Magnesium glycinate is a highly absorbable form — the magnesium is bound to the amino acid glycine, which facilitates intestinal absorption. This NOW formula is further enhanced with BioPerine, a proprietary black pepper fruit extract.
What does magnesium do in the body?+
Magnesium is a mineral that is critical for energy production and metabolism, muscle contraction, nerve impulse transmission and bone mineralization. It is a required cofactor for an estimated 300 enzymes, including processes like fat and protein production and glucose metabolism.
How much magnesium is in a serving and how do I take it?+
A serving of 2 veg capsules provides 200 mg of elemental magnesium from magnesium bisglycinate, plus 2.5 mg of BioPerine black pepper fruit extract. Take 2 capsules 1 to 2 times daily with food. For adults only — consult your physician if pregnant, nursing, taking medication or if you have a medical condition.
Is this product free of common allergens?+
It is not manufactured with wheat, gluten, soy, milk, egg, fish, shellfish, tree nut or sesame ingredients, though it is produced in a GMP facility that processes other ingredients containing these allergens. Natural colour variation may occur in the capsules.
