What does magnesium citrate do in the body?+
Magnesium is a mineral critical for energy production and metabolism, muscle contraction, nerve impulse transmission and bone mineralization. It is a required cofactor for an estimated 300 enzymes, including those involved in fatty acid synthesis, protein synthesis and glucose metabolism, and it is also important for the regulation of calcium balance.
How do I take NOW Magnesium Citrate capsules?+
Take 3 capsules daily, preferably in divided doses, with food. Store the bottle in a cool, dry place after opening.
How much magnesium is in a serving?+
A serving of 3 veg capsules provides 400 mg of elemental magnesium from magnesium citrate, with 20 servings per container. Check the label for the full facts panel.
Is it free of common allergens?+
It is not manufactured with wheat, gluten, soy, milk, egg, fish, shellfish, tree nut or sesame ingredients, though it is produced in a GMP facility that processes other ingredients containing these allergens. The capsule is hypromellose (a cellulose capsule).
