Lutein and zeaxanthin are carotenoids that are preferentially deposited in the macula, the part of the eye responsible for central vision. They act as primary filters of high-energy blue light and help promote normal visual health and the maintenance of healthy contrast sensitivity.
How much lutein and zeaxanthin is in each softgel?+
Each softgel provides 25 mg of lutein and 5 mg of zeaxanthin, both from marigold flower extract (Lutemax 2020).
How should I take NOW Lutein & Zeaxanthin?+
Take 1 softgel daily with a fat-containing meal. It is for adults only — speak to your healthcare provider if you are pregnant, nursing or on medication.
Can this supplement help with screen time and blue light?+
Lutein and zeaxanthin act as filters of high-energy blue light and help neutralise free radicals formed by light exposure, which supports normal recovery from bright light exposure.
