Folate is an essential B-vitamin needed by our body for the production of new and healthy cells. It helps the body to metabolise proteins, form red blood cells and plays a key role preventing the harmful effects of homocysteine by assisting in its break down.
Most supplements contain folic acid which gets converted into 5-methyltetrahydrofolate (folate) so that it can be used in our body.
