Vitamin D3&K2 120 Capsules

FORTIFOOD Vitamin D3 & K2, 120 capsules — vitamin D3 combined with vitamin K2 and beta carotene.

FORTIFOOD explain the combination: vitamin D is necessary for calcium absorption, and once absorbed the calcium needs to be directed to the appropriate tissues, which is what vitamin K is there for. They include pro-vitamin A as beta-carotene, so the body can produce as much vitamin A as it requires, rather than supplying excess vitamin A directly.

What is in it

Each capsule contains:

• Beta carotene — 2.50 mg
• Vitamin D3 — 12.50 mcg
• Vitamin K2 — 0.25 mg

How to take it

FORTIFOOD's recommended initial dosage is one to two capsules per day with meals.

Do not use this product if

FORTIFOOD print this contraindication: patients on anticoagulant (blood-thinning) therapy.

Warnings the maker prints

• May promote blood clotting in susceptible patients.
• Do not exceed dosage levels of 1000 iu (2 capsules) daily in young children.
• High doses may cause hypercalcaemia with increased risk of tissue calcification. The risk is increased by concurrent use of drugs which may cause hypercalcaemia, such as thiazide diuretics.
• Safe in pregnancy and lactation at normal dosage levels; excessive dosage may result in hypercalcaemia, which in turn may suppress parathyroid hormone.
