Escentia’s Vetiver essential oil is 100% pure. The scent is earthy, strong and grounding. It has been used in many perfume industries and is composed of multiple sesquiterpenes, making it extremely grounding to one’s emotions. It is used for its grounding effect during massage treatments. The oil from the vetiver plant has been found to help treat the symptoms of ADHD and ADD, may increase libido and help alleviate insomnia. It helps to reduce stress and anxiety and connect one to the earth.  Vetiver oil also contains immune-supporting properties and is a great way to fortify your immune system

Vetiver essential oil can be used to:

Vetiver essential oil is safe to use when distilled and released as a vapor. It can be added to an aromatherapy diffuser and can be applied topically (although it MUST be diluted into a carrier oil, such as grapeseed, first).

  • Vetiver oil for alertness and mental fatigue: Vetiver has been used to increase concentration and help users to stay awake and alert.
  • For anxiety: It has been shown to decrease anxiety and alleviate symptoms of depression. This is said to be attributed to its grounding properties. It has also been said to assist those with ADHD by decreasing mental fatigue and improving alertness.
  • Deeper breathing when asleep: using vetiver in a diffuser when asleep has been shown to improve your breathing patterns. It could be used to assist those who snore heavily.
  • It contains antioxidants: Vetiver is said to possess powerful antioxidants, which search the body for free radicals (which are responsible for ageing) and remove them from the system.

Blends well with: Bergamot, Clary Sage, Cypress, Frankincense Serrata, Helichrysum Italicum, Lavender, Lemon, Marjoram Sweet, Myrrh, Nutmeg, Patchouli, Black Pepper, Rose Absolute, and Sandalwood.

Technique of extraction method:

Vetiver essential oil is distilled from the vetiver plant’s roots, which are aged before being soaked in water. The highly concentrated oil that is released is then skimmed off the top of the water. It’s used in holistic practice for its soothing, grounding capabilities. Vetiver is in the same family as other grasses used for their essential oils, including lemongrass and citronella. Vetiver oil is quite fragrant, with a distinctive sharp and earthy scent you may recognize from men’s cologne.

Caution:

May affect sensitive skin. Keep out of reach of children. Vetiver should not be used during pregnancy or while breastfeeding, unless under the guidance of an aromatherapist. However, it carries very little risk of toxicity. Avoid contact with eyes, inner ears, and sensitive areas.

Product Specifications: Vetiver is a large, tufted bunchgrass and can reach up to 1.5 metres (5 feet) in height. The thin leaves and stems are erect and rigid, and the plant bears small brown-purple flowers in long spikes. The fragrant roots grow downward in the soil and can attain depths of more than 3 metres (10 feet). The plant is very drought resistant.
