Product details
Escentia Grapefruit essential oil is used in natural household cleaning products and to freshen surfaces. It can be used in homemade beauty lotions, soaps or cosmetics. It can also be used to uplift the mood, and to help decrease fluid retention and curb sugar cravings.
Grapefruit is one of the most versatile essential oils. The aroma of grapefruit oil is clean, fresh and a little bit bitter, just like the actual fruit itself. It has been used for centuries as an uplifting, refreshing oil and is also considered a natural stress-fighter and an antioxidant-rich oil.
Grapefruit pink/ruby pure essential oil can be used as:
- Supports weight-management routines – Some of grapefruit’s active constituents are traditionally used to support a healthy metabolism and reduce appetite. When inhaled or applied topically, grapefruit oil is popular for supporting weight-management routines. Grapefruit essential oil also works as a lymphatic stimulant, which is one reason it’s included in many cellulite creams and blends used for dry brushing.
- Helps to Reduce Stress & Everyday Tension – The smell of grapefruit is uplifting, soothing and clarifying. It’s known to ease everyday tension and bring on feelings of peace and relaxation. Inhaling grapefruit vapours is said to quickly and directly transmit messages to your brain region involved in emotional responses.
- Supports liver and gallbladder function – Grapefruit oil is a traditional gallbladder and liver tonic, and is used to support the body’s natural clearing processes and to help ease cravings and sluggishness. It supports the body’s natural detoxification and fluid balance.
- May support digestion – Increased blood flow to the digestive organs means grapefruit oil also supports the body’s natural clearing processes. It has a positive effect on digestion, which may support fluid balance.
- May soothe the appearance of inflammation and support circulation – Our citrus essential oils are known for their ability to soothe the appearance of everyday inflammation and support blood flow. Grapefruit is traditionally used to ease PMS cramps, headaches, bloating, fatigue and muscle pains.
- Helps to support clear skin – Many citrus oils have skin-supporting and anti-aging properties. Grapefruit essential oil may help support clear, balanced skin and keep your skin resilient against indoor and outdoor air pollution and UV light. Grapefruit essential oil has also traditionally been used to support the skin’s natural recovery.
Technique of extraction method:
Grapefruit oil is extracted from the rind of the grapefruit plant. Grapefruit has a sweet, invigorating scent that may bring feelings of joy, satisfaction, and playfulness. Many of grapefruit essential oil’s benefits are due to one of its main constituents called limonene (which makes up about 88 percent to 95 percent of the oil), a plant compound that helps protect DNA and cells from everyday oxidative stress. In addition to limonene, grapefruit essential oil contains other powerful antioxidants, including vitamin C, myrcene, terpinene, pinene and citronellol.
Caution:
May affect sensitive skin. Keep out of reach of children. If you are pregnant, nursing, or under a doctor’s care, consult your physician. Avoid contact with eyes, inner ears, and sensitive areas. It can also cause photosensitivity, and should not be left on skin that will be exposed to sunlight.
Product Specifications: The grapefruit is a subtropical citrus tree known for its relatively large sour to semisweet, somewhat bitter fruit. Grapefruit is a citrus hybrid originating in Barbados as an accidental cross between the sweet orange and pomelo, both of which were introduced from Asia in the 17th century.
