Solgar ® Garlic Powder 500 mg contains certified Allicin (the active ingredient), an organosulfur compound obtained from garlic. Allicin is part of a defense mechanism against attacks by pests on the garlic plant.
Garlic grows in the soil in the form of a bulb and is native to central Asia is high in sulphur compounds which are believed to create the scent and taste, as well as having a positive effect on health. It has a strong aroma and flavour and the history of its use to support wellbeing traces back to 510 A.D. in ancient China, where it continues to be used in Chinese medicine. It has also been used in Ayurvedic and European medicine for its exceptional rejuvenating/revitalizing properties.
Solgar ® Garlic Powder 500 mg is produced from garlic bulbs that are grown without the use of artificial pesticides and fertilizers and are certified by Quality Assurance International to be in accordance with their standards. It has been certified to contain a minimum of allicin yield and alliin per 2 vegetable capsules.
