The flowers occur in white or cream-colored masses about 3–5 cm wide, which gives it a fluffy looking appearance in the spring to early summer months. The plant’s medicinal properties make it a strong virus and bacteria fighter and so it is therefore used to boost the immune system. The oil has a fresh, herbaceous, camphoraceous, green odor.
