SOLACE LIVER Ingredients

  • N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine (NAC)

N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine (NAC) is a precursor to glutathione – often referred to as the "master antioxidant" due to its essential role in protecting cells from oxidative stress and damage. L-Cysteine is sulphur-containing amino acid, which plays a role in metabolism as it assists the synthesis from fatty acids into energy. It is also involved in the synthesis of keratin, the protein in skin, hair and nails. NAC helps to heal and detoxify your liver from the effects of alcohol and harsh chemicals such as those found in common medications, such as painkillers. NAC has also been shown to help treat certain lung diseases and helps your body to break down mucous, ideal for easing respiratory problems.

  •  Milk Thistle

Milk thistle is a herb traditionally used as a liver protectant and to support liver function. Milk thistle is also used to relieve digestive disturbances and heartburn. Milk thistle is a strong anti-oxidant that promotes cleansing of the body, thus helping to protect it from harmful effects of environmental toxins and alcohol. Several scientific studies suggest that substances in milk thistle (especially the bioactive flavonoid called silymarin) protect the liver from toxins, including certain drugs, such as acetaminophen (Tylenol), which can cause liver damage in high doses. Studies suggest that silymarin may have anti-inflammatory properties, which can be beneficial for individuals with liver conditions characterised by inflammation, such as hepatitis.

  •  Artichoke Leaf

Artichoke leaf is essential to address a condition that affects an estimated 25 percent of all adults called NAFLD (non-alcoholic fatty liver disease). NAFLD is caused when abnormal amounts of fat build up in the liver, most commonly caused by sedentary lifestyles and high dietary calorie intakes. NAFLD is estimated to be present in up to 75% of people who are overweight and in more than 90% of people who have severe obesity. Artichoke extract suppresses disease symptoms, such as increases in serum lipids and bilirubin. Treatment with artichoke extract also displayed reductions in inflammation and liver cell death. Artichoke leaf may alss reduce the serum levels of certain types of liver enzymes, such as AST and ALT, both of which indicate liver damage when detected at high levels. Chronic alcohol consumption, drugs, non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) and chronic viral hepatitis are common causes associated with raised ALT and AST.

  •  Dandelion Root

The polysaccharides in dandelion are known to reduce stress on the liver and support its ability to produce bile, while also helping your liver filter potentially harmful chemicals out of food. Dandelion root has many naturally occurring compounds including inulin, sesquiterpenes, and phenolic compounds such as flavonoids, minerals, and phytosterols. Dandelion stimulates and improves digestion by increasing bile flow, which also helps to prevent gallstones. Patients with insulin resistance, fatty liver disease, and inflammatory conditions can benefit from dandelion root, particularly due to impaired secretion (like if you're prone to the formation of bile stones).

  •  Myo-Inositol

Inositol is a naturally occurring sugar that is often classified as a B-vitamin-like compound which can be beneficial for liver health. It has been found to prevent the build-up of fat in the liver and reduce the risk of liver disease. Inositol has been studied for its potential role in improving insulin sensitivity by diluting sugar within the blood, which is particularly beneficial for those with metabolic syndrome, insulin resistance, and diabetes. Insulin resistance is a contributing factor to the development of NAFLD and other metabolic disorders. By improving insulin sensitivity, inositol may indirectly support liver health. Inositol has also been studied for its potential benefits in managing mood disorders such as depression and anxiety. Some individuals with mood disorders may have comorbid liver conditions, and improving mental health can have a positive impact on overall well-being, which may indirectly benefit the liver.

  •  Choline Bitartrate/Polyunsaturated Lecithin

Choline and myo-inositol are dietary supplements ingested under the premise that they facilitate the burning of stored fat. Choline and inositol have been shown to prevent abnormal or excessive liver accumulation of cholesterol and triglycerides in choline and inositol deficient individuals. Choline serves various functions in our bodies - in the structure of cell membranes and protecting our livers from accumulating fat. Choline helps in the production of lipotropic agents, converting fats into useful products, and aids in the production of good cholesterol. The body also needs choline to manufacture phosphatidylcholine that regulate the ability to allow nutrients and waste products to pass in and out of cells.

  •  BioPerine®

BioPerine® is a patented extract obtained from black pepper fruits (Piper nigrum) and may be co-administered with various nutrients to enhance their bioavailability. The addition of small amounts of BioPerine® to nutraceutical supplements has been found to enhance absorption of nutrients by at least 30%.

  •  Microcrystalline cellulose and Perkasil

Microcrystalline cellulose and Perkasil are refined wood pulp and precipitated amorphous silica respectively. These agents are used as texturizers and anti-caking agents, most commonly used in vitamin supplements or tablets. These agents are considered industry standard, vegan-friendly substrates to ensure proper encapsulation and longevity of the vegetable capsules, containing Solace's Kidney+ ingredients.
