SFERA BIO NUTRITION - 5-Htp Complex (Griffonia Seed Extract) 60 Capsules

Sfera 5-HTP complex is a combination of Griffonia seed extract and Pyridoxal-5-Phosphate (cofactor vitamin B6) with the aim to help promote healthy mood balance and may be used as a sleep aid.

Griffonia simplicifolia, also known as griffonia, is a shrub native to West-Africa and Central-Africa. Seeds from the griffonia plant is used as a herbal remedy due to the seed’s high content of 5-Hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP). 5-HTP is an amino acid precursor to serotonin. 5-HTP may help to promote healthy mood balance and may be used a sleep aid. In Sfera products a Griffonia simplicifolia extract with a 5-HTP content of no less than 98% is used.

Pyridoxal-5-phosphate is a form of Vitamin B6 vitamin supplement. Vitamin B6 provides an array of health benefits and may assist with general wellbeing. In Sfera products a Pyridoxal-5-Phosphate with a purity of no less than 99% is used.

Ingredients

One vegetarian capsule provides: Griffonia simplicifolia (Griffonia) [seed, extract] (providing 98% L-5-hydroxytryptophan) 100 mg, Pyridoxal-5-Phosphate (P-5-P) 20 mg. Other ingredients: Vegetarian capsule and microcrystalline cellulose.

Do not take Sfera 5-HTP Complex:

• if you are hypersensitive (allergic) to any of the ingredients of Sfera 5-HTP Complex.

• if you have scleroderma (a chronic hardening and contraction of the skin and connective tissue, either locally or throughout the body).

Warnings and precautions:

Take special care with Sfera 5-HTP Complex

• avoid taking with alcohol or products that cause drowsiness.

• if you show signs of weakness, oral ulcers, abdominal pain accompanied by severe muscle pain or if you experience skin changes.

• if sleeplessness persists continuously for more than 4 weeks (chronic insomnia).

Other medicines and Sfera 5-HTP Complex :

Always tell your health care provider if you are taking any other medicine. (This includes all complementary or traditional medicines.)

Consult a health care provider prior to use if you are taking carbidopa, or medicines/supplements with serotonergic activity. These may include, but are not limited to, L-tryptophan, S-adenosylmethionine (SAMe), St. John’s wort, antidepressants, pain killers, over the counter cough and cold medicine containing dextromethorphan, anti-nausea medication and anti-migraine medication.

Avoid taking with alcohol or products that cause drowsiness.

Children and adolescents: Children and adolescents under the age of 18 years should not take Sfera 5-HTP Complex.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding: If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, please consult your doctor, pharmacist or other health care provider for advice before taking this medicine.
