The powerful mandarin fruit owes its name, which means gold in Cantonese, to the high officials of the Chinese empire who, by tradition, received this fruit as a gift as a symbol of fortune and prosperity. To this day, the fragrant citrus fruit is offered to wish someone a life full of hope and prosperity. Citrus reticulata oil, also called tangerine oil or mandarin essential oil holds this tradition and more. This oil has powerful properties: calming, relaxing, antispasmodic, circulatory, slightly antiseptic and anti-fungal. It is also effective in digestion-related problems (slow digestion, bloating, colic, etc.). Citrus reticulata oil can also ease heart palpitations or common breathing conditions.

 

Mandarin pure essential oil can be used as:

Mandarin oil has the sweetest aroma of the citrus family oils and for this reason used in many skincare and haircare formulations. It is used to aid acne, dull skin, and oily skin, also working towards the prevention of scars, spots and wrinkles. Children love it for its sweetness, and it works well to assist them to relax and go to sleep.

It can also be used in a diffuser or candle to release stress and imbue deep feelings of relaxation. It is often used as an aid for those who suffer from insomnia. Mandarin oil also helps to purify the air. A notable use is in haircare, in which it copper colour tones, cleanses oily hair, or restores dullness, bringing it back to life!

Blends well with: Other citrus, floral, wood, spice and herb families of oils. Specifically, bergamot oil, patchouli, lavender, cedarwood, vetiver and rosemary.

Citrus rind or peel is cold pressed or expressed.

Product Specifications: The seedless, medium-sized citrus fruit has an orange-red colour and is easy to peel. Mandarins have low levels of acidity and are appreciated for their sweet taste. It is a light thin oil with a greenish-orange hue. It can be yellow, green or red in colour depending on the origin of the fruit. Its aroma is sweet and bold, fruity and fresh with bright orange notes. It contains Limonene, gamma-Terpinene, a-Pinene, B-Pinene, B-Myrcene.

The mandarin orange tree (Citrus reticulata), is considered to be native to southeastern Asia. It is a small tree with shiny green leaves and fragrant white flowers. The tree was unknown in the Mediterranean region until the eighteenth century. Since then, the fruit has been cultivated in many countries. Now you can find mandarin fruit in Spain, Italy, Brazil, Algeria, Tunisia, Morocco, Mexico, and the United States.
