Escentia Tea-tree Pure Essential Oil is well-known for its powerful antiseptic properties and ability to treat wounds, which is why it’s one of the top antibacterial essential oils. It has also been used to lower skin inflammation associated with allergies, irritation and rashes. It is utilized as an ingredient in homemade cleaning products and is often diffused to kill toxic mould that’s growing in the home. It is also often found in disinfectant sprays, face washes, shampoos, massage oils, skin and nail creams and laundry detergents.

Tea tree essential oil has the following effects: Analgesic, antifungal, antiseptic, bactericide, antiviral, immune stimulant, antispasmodic, circulation decongestant, relaxant, sudorific. Its primary active ingredients include terpene hydrocarbons, monoterpenes and sesquiterpenes. It is these compounds that give Tea-tree its antibacterial, antiviral and antifungal activity.

Tea-tree has been said to assist with the following: 

  • Digestive: Gastro-enteritis; food poisoning; diarrhea resulting from pathogens irritating the lining of the large intestine, which increases motility and decreases absorption; candidiasis; mouth wash.
  • Urinary: Cystitis.
  • Reproductive: Vaginitis; thrush; tea tree douches are effective in assisting with these complaints.
  • Nervous: Viral and bacterial meningitis and encephalomyelitis; shingles.
  • Skin: Abscesses; boils; acne; cold sores; ring worm; oily skin; athlete’s foot; verrucae; warts; cuts; wounds; eczema; herpes; insect bites; fungal infections; nail infections; burns; sunburns; nappy rash; chicken pox.
  • Respiratory: Bronchitis; coughs; colds; gum infections; flu; sinusitis; sore throats; catarrh; mouth ulcers; pyorrhea; mouthwash.

Technique of extraction method:

Tea tree essential oil is distilled from the leaves and twigs of Melaleuca alternifolia. The oil is colourless to pale yellow.

Product Specifications: Melaleuca alternifolia is a small tree of about 7m tall with a bushy crown and whitish, papery bark. The flowers occur in white or cream-colored masses about 3–5 cm wide, which gives it a fluffy looking appearance in the spring to early summer months. The plant’s medicinal properties make it a strong virus and bacteria fighter and so it is therefore used to boost the immune system. The oil has a fresh, herbaceous, camphoraceous, green odor.
